Number of feeding program beneficiaries in Balara Elementary School doubles to 200

A total of 200 students have benefitted from the 120-day Adopt-A-School Feeding Program of AV Gedang Foundation in Balara Elementary School for school year 2018-2019. This is a hundred percent higher than the 100 student-beneficiaries in school year 2017-2018.

In the culminating activity of the feeding program on Thursday, March 21, 2019, the AV Gedang Foundation led by its President Anthony V. Gedang gave awards to the students who reached the normal body mass index (BMI). The Philippine Statistics Authority defines BMI as an indicator of an individual’s nutritional status and can be computed by dividing weight in kilograms to height in meters squared (BMI=kg/m2).

The Foundation also gave the students a t-shirt printed with “I AM AVG Foundation” text and a book donated by The Generics Pharmacy.

The Foundation last August announced that it expanded the feeding program in Balara Elementary School from 90 days in school year 2017-2018 due to its successful implementation. Besides Balara Elementary School, the Foundation also conducts feeding programs in Puypuy and Masaya Elementary School in Bay, Laguna and Pilipog Elementary School in Cordova, Cebu.
