Envirokonsult through its corporate social responsibility arm AV Gedang Foundation conducted a Hygiene Fair for 100 students at Ipo Elementary School and 50 Dumagat children living in Ipo Watershed last Thursday, February 20.
Volunteer-employees from Envirokonsult taught children the proper handwashing techniques and how doing it often could help them prevent diarrhea-related illnesses and respiratory infections. AV Gedang Foundation Coordinator Vicky Dineros also narrated the story “Ngiii! Ang Kati-kati ng Ulo ko” by Luis P. Gatmaitan which taught children about proper hair care.
To further support the children’s hygiene, Envirokonsult distributed kits that contain soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, and towel.
Since 2004, Envirokonsult has been implementing corporate social responsibility programs in Ipo Watershed to help protect its ecosystem as well as accelerate the lives of indigenous people residing in it. Today, Envirokonsult is working with Maynilad to ensure the operational reliability of the Ipo Dam where the majority of water supply in Metro Manila comes from.
