Envirokonsult, Your Wastewater Engineering Solutions Partner will start operating its septage treatment plant in Dauis, Bohol within January 2020.
The septage treatment plant, popularly known as Envirokonsult’s Fully Mechanized Facility (FMF), is built within an 800m2 lot located in Barangay Dao. It will serve households and commercial establishments in Panglao Island (composed of Panglao and Dauis) initially.
“Similar to Boracay, there are a lot of hotels and restaurants in Bohol that fail to comply with DENR regulations on effluent discharge. Our Fully Mechanized Facility in Panglao Island is designed and built to help commercial establishments meet DENR’s directives. This septage treatment plant is hopeful also to serve domestic households following the Septage Management Programs of neighboring municipality/city in the province,” said Aaron P. Gedang, Operations and Business Development Director of Envirokonsult.
The beaches of Panglao Island have been found to be contaminated with high levels of fecal coliform which comes from human or animal feces. The DENR attributed this to a lack of septage treatment facility and the use of “bottomless” septic tanks on the Island.
Envirokonsult aims to help resolve this growing concern by offering comprehensive desludging/siphoning and wastewater treatment services in its septage treatment plant with a capacity of 100m3 per day.
The septage treatment plant in Bohol is the seventh FMF that Envirokonsult designed and built. The other facilities are located in Bay, Laguna; Angeles, Pampanga under a Design-Build-Supply contract with the Angeles City Water District; Cordova, Cebu under a service contract with the Metro Cebu Water District; Naga, Cebu under a Design-Build-Supply contract with the Local Government Unit; Batangas under a Design-Build-Supply contract with the Metro Lipa Water District; and Baguio City through a Design-Build-Supply contract with its City Government.
