After more than two months of fierce competition, the Gedang Group of Companies officially closes its inaugural sports festival with an all-star volleyball and basketball games and awarding of winners on Friday, October 19, 2018, at Celebrity Sports Club.

A volleyball match between Team A, headed by Alexi Gedang, and Team B, headed by Michael Saurin, kicked off the closing event. Team A prevailed in a five-set match with 16-25, 25-14, 19-25, 25-23, and 15-8.

The action continued as the Black and White Teams went head-to-head in a basketball match. The White Team emerged victorious with a narrow 81-79 score.

Meanwhile, President and CEO Anthony V. Gedang led the awarding of winners of the basketball, volleyball, bowling, badminton, and billiards tournament. Here’s the complete list of winners:

Anthony V. Gedang also announced that they will form a basketball team that would compete in leagues with their clients. The company will conduct a try-out for employees who want to be part of the team though the date is yet to be decided.

HR Director Alexi Gedang, on the other hand, said she is happy that they have achieved the objective of the sports festival which is to build camaraderie among the employees of Gedang Group from its head office in Quezon City to its project management offices in Bay Plant (Laguna), FTI (Taguig City), and Dagat-Dagatan (Caloocan City).

In line with this, Alexi said that they aim to make the sports festival an annual event and add more sports such as darts, table tennis, and other Filipino games such as patintero.
